A new “Johnny English” film starring Rowan Atkinson is in the works from Universal Pictures and Working Title Films.
The sequel to the 2003 comedy “Johnny English”, which starred Atkinson as the incompetent and bumbling British spy who must foil a plot to steal the Crown Jewels of England, is prepping to start production this August.
Oliver Parker (“St. Trinian’s”) will be directing the sequel, which was written by Hamish McColl, who has previously written “Mr. Bean’s Holiday”, also starring Atkinson, best known for his “Mr Bean” character.
Tim Bevan, Chris Clark, and Eric Fellner are producing the film, with Will Davies and Atkinson onbaord as executive producers.
