Deborah Bradley, the mother of missing 10-month-old Missouri toddler Lisa Irwin, is claiming police accused her of having done something to her daughter, ABC News is reporting. “From the start when they’ve questioned me, once I couldn’t fill in gaps, it turned into ‘You did it, you did it,” Bradley told ‘Good Morning America.’
Bradley is also claiming that Kansas City police said she failed a polygraph test. While officials said they couldn’t comment on the claim, they added she’s “free to say whatever she wants.”
The accusations come after Irwin vanished from her crib earlier this week. Police have said they don’t know who took her, or where she is. They added that Bradley and the toddler’s father, Jeremy Irwin, had stopped cooperating. But the parents denied the claims, saying they haven’t ended their cooperation with police to find their daughter. “We continue to ask, answer all the questions the best we can and do everything they tell us to do,” Bradley added.
Police Capt. Steve Young said “If they say they’re willing to continue speaking with detectives, I say great. Our door is open. Their involvement in the case is the best thing…Our only goal is to find this little girl.” He added that detectives would be happy to resume talks with the toddler’s parents, but he hasn’t heard from them yet.
