First Showing is reporting that Matt Damon and actor John Krasinski of The Office are teaming up in what will be Damon’s directorial debut. Together the two will pen the script for the Warner Brothers production, as well as headline the drama. According to reports, Krasinski developed the idea for the $12 million dollar budgeted flick with novelist Dave Eggers’ best-known for his books A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and You Shall Know Our Velocity.
Originally Matt Damon was said to be working on a movie called Father Daughter Time as his first stint in the directors chair. Although little is known about Damon and Krasinski’s upcoming co-creation, several outlets are reporting that the plot will chronicle Damon as a salesman who arrives in a small town only to have his whole life called into question. The untitled movie will be produced by Chris Moore of Good Will Hunting, and John Krasinski’s Sunday Night Productions.
When Damon plans to tackle his directing duties was not revealed. After checking out his latest projects its hard to tell. He is currently attached to star in the biopic of Liberace with Michael Douglas, with the movie Elysium on the way, as well as We Bought a Zoo, and Happy Feet Two.
