If you thought David Bowie had officially left the music scene, you were wrong! The legendary rocker released a new song, titled “Where Are You Now?” and an accompanying video. But, that’s not all! According to Hollywood.com, Iso/Columbia Records announced that Bowie will be releasing a new album titled “The Next Day,” which is due out in March. This will be Bowie’s first album in 10 years.
A release on Bowie’s webiste explains that the music video for “Where Are You Now?” reflects the time Bowie spent in a divided Berlin, Germany in the late 1970s. In the video (below), Bowie looks at footage of an auto repair shop situated beneath the apartment in which he lived at the time. The imagery and lyrics are said to help raise the titular question, “Where are we now?”
Hollywood.com reports that Bowie’s time in Berlin was an eventful time in his life. Before moving there, he began to break into other forms of art such as painting, sketch work, and photography. When he moved to Berlin, Bowie was able to kick his drug habit, and he went through a divorce. He also released his famous “Berlin Trilogy” albums, in which he experimented with a new wave of music.
