You know John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, but what about Brian Epstein? He’s the man responsible for finding The Beatles, managing them and helping them become the music icons millions know and love today, essentially qualifying him as a fifth Beatle.
Before achieving his goal of solidifying a career in the entertainment industry, Vivek Tiwary was just a guy with a dream and, while in business school, decided that in order to achieve that dream, he should study some of the industry greats, one of which was Brian Epstein. Now, Tiwary takes that early research a step further by turning Epstein’s story into both a graphic novel and a feature film, both of which are titled “The Fifth Beatle.”
While spending some time at the Dark Horse Comics booth on the convention center floor at San Diego Comic Con, Tiwary took the time to talk to ShockYa about the genesis of the project, the progression of the story, securing the rights to use Beatles music, the connection between the graphic novel and film, the trajectory for that feature and more. Check it all out for yourself in the video interview below and keep an eye out for “The Fifth Beatle” graphic novel, due out on November 19, 2013.
