Helen Hunt is undergoing a major exploration of self-discovery in the newly released trailer, poster and stills from her upcoming comedy, ‘Ride.’ The film’s assets have been released by the comedy’s distribution company, Screen Media Films, in anticipation of its release on May 1 in theaters and on VOD.
‘Ride’ marks the second feature film the Academy Award-winning actress has written and directed, after the 2007 romantic comedy-drama, ‘Then She Found Me.’ She also stars in her writing and directorial follow-up movie, which also features Luke Wilson, Brenton Thwaites, and David Zayas.

In ‘Ride,’ when an editor from The New Yorker (Helen Hunt) follows her son (Brenton Thwaites) to LA after he drops out of college to surf and find himself, she ends up being the one thrust into a sea change of self-discovery. In this comedy written and directed by Helen Hunt, she befriends a limo driver (David Zayas), rediscovers her sexuality with a younger surf instructor (Luke Wilson), and begins to heal her fractured relationship with her son and herself.
