Audiences are being offered an extended look behind the scenes of one of the most imaginative movies of the year, ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets,’ in a new featurette. The clip, which is titled ‘See You In Space,’ offers a visually spectacular view into the upcoming adventure film.
‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets‘ is the latest movie from writer-director Luc Besson, who has helmed such films as ‘The Professional,’ ‘The Fifth Element’ and ‘Lucy.’ The filmmaker’s latest action movie is based on Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières’ ground-breaking comic book series, ‘Valerian and Laureline,’ which is published by Dargaud.
EuropaCorp and STXfilms will distribute ‘Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets’ in theaters nationwide on July 21. The sci-fi drama stars Dane DeHaan as the title character of Valerian, as well as Cara Delevingne, Clive Owen, Rihanna, Ethan Hawke, Herbie Hancock, Kris Wu and Rutger Hauer.

In the 28th century, Valerian (DeHaan) and Laureline (Delevingne) are a team of special operatives who are charged with maintaining order throughout the human territories. Under assignment from the Minister of Defense, the two embark on a mission to the astonishing city of Alpha-an ever-expanding metropolis where species from all over the universe have converged over centuries to share knowledge, intelligence and cultures with each other.
There is a mystery at the center of Alpha, as a dark force threatens the peaceful existence of the City of a Thousand Planets. So Valerian and Laureline must race to identify the marauding menace and safeguard not just Alpha, but the future of the universe.
