Escaping into a magical fantasy world can sometimes be the best option for people, especially those who have been struggling to fit into their surroundings. That retreat can help them finally find acceptance and peace of mind. That’s certainly the case for the misfit teen girl in the upcoming drama, ‘I Kill Giants.’ In honor of the young girl learning how to not only stand up for herself, but also face her fears, at both school and home, a new clip from the film has been release.
The latest video from the thriller is also supporting the movie’s World Premiere at this month’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). ‘I Kill Giants’ is premiering at the festival this Saturday, September 10, at 12:15pm ET at TIFF Bell Lightbox Cinema 3. The fantasy movie, which will be featured in the Discovery Section, is also set to play on Saturday, September 16, at 3:45pm ET at Scotiabank 11.
Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Anders Walter, made his feature film directional debut on ‘I Kill Giants.’ The drama stars Zoe Saldana, Imogen Poots, Sydney Wade and Madison Wolfe as the young teen girl. The thriller is based on the original graphic novel by Joe Kelly Eisner, who also wrote the movie’s script.
‘I Kill Giants’ follows Barbara Thorsen (Wolfe), a teenage girl who chooses to escape the realities of school and a drab family life by retreating into her magical world of Titans and Giants. With the help of her new friend, Sophia (Wade), and her school therapist, Mrs. MollĂ© (Zoe Saldana), she will learn to battle her Giants and face her fears. Those concerns include tackling the mean bullies at school, her sister (Imogen Poots) and her difficult work situation, and eventually her anxiety about death.
