Some people will happily take extreme measures to help their friends, even if it means putting themselves in danger. Adam Brody is humorously proving that point in his upcoming comedy, ‘Big Bear.’ In honor of the movie’s release, Shockya is debuting an exclusive clip from the film, which is titled ‘I Got a Surprise for You.’ The clip is set in the moment right before the friends of Brody’s character find out that he kidnapped a man he perceives to be a threat, due to some suspicious behavior and sounds coming from the basement.
‘Big Bear’ is set to open in theaters and on VOD this Friday, September 22. Blue Fox Entertainment announces earlier in the summer that it acquired the worldwide rights for the comedy. The adventure movie will mark the first U.S. theatrical release of the global distribution and film sales company’s recently launched distribution arm.
The comedy marks the feature film directorial debut of actor Joey Kern, who also wrote the script. Kern also stars in ‘Big Bear’ with Brody, Tyler Labine, Zachary Knighton and Pablo Schreiber. The first-time feature filmmaker also served as a producer on the movie with Luke Edwards, Brandon Evans, Brett Forbes and Patrick Rizotti.
“We want to make a big splash with our first theatrical release under the Blue Fox Entertainment label. Given this terrific cast and their excellent performances, we believe we have a winner with ‘Big Bear,'” said Blue Fox Entertainment Partners James Huntsman, Todd Slater and Andreas Olavarria. “Joey Kern absolutely knocked his directorial debut out of the park, (and) we are proud to introduce him as a director to the world.”
“Working on ‘Big Bear’ with Pablo Schreiber, Adam Brody, Tyler Labine and Zachary Knighton was a career highlight,” said Kern. “To say this film means a lot to me is an understatement, so to have the opportunity to release it out into the world with a first-rate company like Blue Fox couldn’t make me happier.”
Blue Fox Entertainment has released the following synopsis for ‘Big Bear’:
When Joe (Kern) gets dumped by his cheating fiancée, he reluctantly decides to go ahead with his bachelor party up at Big Bear Lake anyway, thanks to the urging of his three best friends, Eric, Nick and Colin (Brody, Labine and Knighton). Things take a turn for the worst the next morning when Joe discovers the man his fiancée ran off with (Schreiber) has been kidnapped by his friends and tied up in the basement.
