**Beware this is a review of Captain America #25 and there are spoilers.Â
For those of you who haven’t already heard, Captain America bought the farm in this issue. After surrendering to the authorities Captain America is taken into custody and paraded around the city. On his way to the courthouse he is shot by a sniper while trying to save the life of one of the police officers escorting him. Is this truly the end of our nations greatest hero?
“This is the end of Steve Rogers, the meat and potatoes guy from 1941,” says Dan Buckley, president of publishing at Marvel Entertainment. “But Captain America is a costume, and there are other people who could take it over. He is iconic, and we’re continuing the comic books,” he says. The Captain America comic began is 1941, and has seen a steep decline in comic book sales due to more contemporary comic heroes. Could Rogers death be a breath of life into this American Superhero? Could there be a Hollywood film in the works? Buckley sure thinks so!
