Earlier this month, the following highly controversial movie advertisment was removed from 30 billboards (shown below) and a thousand of taxicabs in the Los Angeles and New York areas due to public outrage and alleged MPAA violations. The MPAA has ordered ‘After Dark’ the film’s producers to clear all promotional materials, and they intend to delay the MPAA rating for the movie another 30 days which could push the film’s May 18 release date.

Gordon from the Motion Picture Association of America reportedly said, “After Dark Films presented their ads for approval, as all companies are required to do if they wish to receive an MPAA rating. However, their ads were summarily rejected for their graphic depiction of a woman’s torture and death. Yet After Dark proceeded to post them on billboards anyway, and these ads appeared in some of the most prominent public locations in Los Angeles and New York.”

The following banned advertisement depicts actress Elisha Cuthbert (24, House of Wax) being abducted, confined, tortured and terminated.
