Mr. Earl Brooks is Man of the Year and the Thumbprint Killer; at least that is what his alter ego Marshall brings out in him. Going to AA meeting has kept his problems under control until Marshall pushes him just a little to far and he falls off the wagon and goes back to his natural ways. Unfortunately for Mr. Brooks “Mr. Smith†catches him in the act and insists on joining in with him by blackmailing him into it. Little does Mr. Brooks know things in his life are about to take a change some for the better and some for the worse, only time will tell what will happen between the two men.
Mr Brooks receives three skipped beats on the Roger Moore movie scale. Bruce Evans was a step above the rest developing the world of Mr. Brooks. This movie was just short of a heart stopper. Kevin Costner did an outstanding job as Mr. Brooks with William Hurt as his crazed alter ego Marshall, these two worked together brilliantly. I absolutely loved this film, its definitely gonna make it’s way into the collection.
