Jimmy Kimmel will host the 2007 American Music Awards which will feature performances by Chris Daughtry, Fergie, Alicia Keyes, Celine Dion, Avril Lavigne, Rihanna, Duran Duran and Maroon 5, which airs tonight November 18, 2007 on ABC.

“2007 American Music Awards” — For the first time in the American Music Awards’ 35-year history, winners will be determined by online voting at ama.abc.com (votes were collected from Oct. 9 to Nov. 1). Winners will be announced live on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 18 (8:00-11:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC. From the NOKIA Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, Jimmy Kimmel returns for his fourth time to host the popular awards show.

Performances include Daughtry, Celine Dion, Fergie, Alicia Keys, Avril Lavigne, Duran Duran, Chris Brown, will.i.am, Rihanna, Maroon 5 and Nicole Scherzinger.

In nominations, Justin Timberlake, Beyonc, Linkin Park and Daughtry lead the pack with three each. Timberlake is nominated for Favorite Male Artist. His album, “Future Sex/Love Sounds,” is up for Favorite Album: Pop/Rock and Favorite Album: Soul/Rhythm & Blues. Beyonc is nominated for Favorite Female Artist: Pop or Rock and Favorite Female Artist: Soul/Rhythm & Blues. Her album, “B’Day,” was nominated for Favorite Album: Soul/Rhythm & Blues. Linkin Park is nominated for Favorite Band, Duo or Group: Pop or Rock; Favorite Artist: Alternative Rock Music. Their album, “Minutes to Midnight,” is up for Favorite Album: Pop or Rock. Newcomer Daughtry is nominated for Favorite Breakthrough Artist; Favorite Artist: Adult Contemporary Music. His self-titled album, “Daughtry,” is up for Favorite Album: Pop or Rock.

Larry Klein is the producer of “2007 American Music Awards.” Louis J. Horvitz is directing. Writers are Barry Adelman and Fred Bronson. Executive in charge of production is Bob Bardo. Associate producer is Don Harary.
