On January 29th, Dark Sky Films will be releasing the 1972 horror classic TRAGIC CEREMONY, which is available for the first time ever in North America as well. Uncut, uncensored, and remastered from very rare original vault materials, TRAGIC CEREMONY is presented in enhanced widescreen format with never-before-seen bonus material. Directed by Riccardo Freda (who is known for his work on classics as I, Vampiri, The Horrible Secret of Dr. Hichcock, and The Iguana With the Tongue of Fire), TRAGIC CEREMONY is a strange and gruesome rarity. The film tells the story of four hippies (led by Camille Keaton, star of I Spit on Your Grave) who take refuge in the seemingly abandoned Villa Alexander, unaware that their hosts (Twitch of the Death Nerve’s Luigi Pistilli and Thunderball’s Luciana Paluzzi) are staging a satanic sacrifice. When the ceremony ends in a blood-soaked orgy of violence , the hippies flee the villa, only to find themselves accused of committing a Manson-style massacre. Also check out the bonus features on the disc, where actress Camille Keaton candidly discusses her part in TRAGIC CEREMONY in addition to other notable European films she did before returning to America to make the notorious I Spit on Your Grave. This is the first featurette ever with the otherwise reclusive actress.
