Santa Monica, CA (March 21, 2008) – After weeks of showcasing krumping, clowning, popping and locking, MTV’s hot new dance series “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew” has only two hip-hop dance crews remaining. Representing the city of Boston in the east corner is Status Quo, and in the west corner from San Diego is JabbaWockeeZ. In a battle of the illest, these two crews will vie for dance supremacy during the live finale on Thursday, March 27 at 10:00 p.m. LIVE ET/tape delayed PT. Immediately following the event, MTV News will webcast live with the winning dance crew and behind-the-scenes coverage at http://dancecrew.mtv.com.
Hosted by Mario Lopez, “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew” features creative and energetic hip-hop dance performances by JabbaWockeeZ and Status Quo for the judges – recording artists JC Chasez and Lil Mama and choreographer Shane Sparks. Polls are open now through Thursday, March 27 at 9:00 p.m. ET, and viewers may vote via text messaging, phone and online (http://dancecrew.mtv.com). Nearly five million votes were cast last week following the March 13 airing. Fans also can view behind-the-scenes footage and pictures of the crews, learn the latest moves from dancers across the country and access other Web exclusives at http://dancecrew.mtv.com.
A new online dance community (http://dance.mtv.com) allows viewers to post their most daring dance battles and videos. Whether a group or an individual, users may upload their best videos and viewers can watch and rate all the dancers. The videos with the most views may be aired on MTV.
