1. If Light It Up was to come with a disclaimer, how would that read?
Warning: Strap a Set On Before Listening
2. I’ve seen Rev Theory tied to WWE, Nascar, XBOX and the NBA’s Maloof brothers. What is it about Rev Theory that is so attractive to major brands?
Well i think we have a high energy brand of rock that compliments sports, and high energy entertainment.. most WWE and Nascar fans are rock fans. so we feel fortunate for the exposure to their all ready built in fan base..
3. What’s life on the road like for 5 rock guys? Is it everything you dreamed of?
Its a lot of fun mixed with a lot of down time, altogether we have 11 people on the bus with our crew, things get a little crazy sometimes but all in all we know how to manage each others personalities… we’ve been on the road and the shows have been getting bigger and better all the time and we have been touring with so many cool bands that it definitely feels surreal sometimes… right now we are enjoying the ride and just soaking it up for all its worth.
4. When you’re on the tour bus do you mostly listen to music, play video games or watch movies the most? Which can you not live without?
well we mostly travel through the night, so i spend most of time on the tour bus sleeping! but ya we watch a lot of tv, its a treat to have satellite so we’re all over it right now, and dvd’s, the office is playin nonstop. the one thing i cant live without is my ipod, that and a my copy of apprentass 8!
5. Is there a favorite truck stop on the road? Have you been to Carl’s Corner for theBio-Willie (Willie Nelson’s Bio-Diesels)?
haha! no actually i haven’t been there, i will look out for it…i mean we used to have a special pass for Flying J truck stops where we would get cheaper gas, we signed up when we were in an RV it was hilarious, i love there sombreros and robot dogs for sale, top end stuff..i just cant wait to have the $$ to just buy all the ridiculous outfits and then pay my tech captain bong to wear them!
6. How do you stay in shape on tour? Is the live show your daily work out?
actually we try n be really healthy from the time we wake up till about half way through the show. we all eat pretty healthy n try n go to the gym everyday, its a good way to sweat out the night before, cardio baby, cardio..
7. What is better, life in the studio with Brian Howes and Josh Abraham or life on the road with Drowning Pool, Seether, Flyleaf and the other bands you’ve toured with?
Its really different, they both fill different voids..it is very fulfilling to be able to create songs, and then go into a studio and see all the hard work pay off when its done. but there really is nothing like performing live and being able to infect a crowd, or having people sing your songs with you, its definitely a high you cant get in the studio..its like having a child i guess (not that i know what that feels like) but the pregnancy and labor process is comparable to the songwriting and recording process, and then you let the songs and record grow, as you tour bigger shows and hopefully do well with album:)
8. What band is your favorite to tour with? Who would be on your dream tour?
Well i would have to say the Hinder guys are my favorite band to tour with., we all get along and love to party, i have had some of my best moments on the road with these guys, we did our first national tour and experienced things together for the first time, it was very cool, plus we had a sick mushroom trip with them in Texas haha!
9. If you had to pick one song to leave off the record, which would it be and why? Is there an amazing b-side that didn’t make it onto the record that you would like the world to hear instead?
I know that it sounds cliché but i am really proud of every song on the album, there really is no filler, i really feel like we put a lot of time and effort into making every track as good as they could be. however, there are a couple songs that i wish could have made the record, it was tough because we had to make sure the record was really cohesive, so some of the songs that didn’t make the record were still very good, just not right for the overall feel of the album… there is def going to be a couple really cool b-sides, one that i really liked is called “Lie to Me”
10. What does the second half of 2008 have in store for Rev Theory?
As of now we are going to be booked touring till September, we have a big album release party in Vegas at the palms in on June 12th, and hopefully big things, we’ll see, right now we just want to take it one day at a time, and hopefully play Conan and SNL by the end of the year:)
