Check out the latest movie poster from the upcoming remake “The Day the Earth Stood Still” by director Scott Derrickson (Paradise Lost, The Birds) and starring Keanu Reeves, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, John Cleese and Kathy Bates.
Synopsis: A flying saucer orbits the 1950s Earth. It lands in Washington, DC, on the Mall. The lone occupant steps out and is shot by a jumpy soldier. Gort, a large and very powerful robot appears to save him and is able to melt tanks with the slightest bit of his power. The wounded alien orders Gort to stop his rampage and is taken to a hospital from which he escapes in order to learn more about this planet, even moving in as a boarder with an Earth family. When they begin to suspect him, he reveals himself, along with the news that Gort is a member of a race of super-robot enforcers invented to keep the peace of the galaxy that will destroy the Earth if provoked.

I bet this Day the Earth Stood Still remake will be way better than the first one.
From the trailer it looks like Keanu Reeves is imitating what Michael Rennie did with the role of Klatuu in the ORIGINAL so how good can this be then if you have Keanu Reeves as the lead actor and also this movie was already superbly done by the great director Robert Wise and I was wondering if Gort will be back for this version. All in all I hope that this does justice to the original movie because the original version is one of my favorites and I would hate to see it TRASHED by bad acting and uninspired directing.
Also does it look like the so called “NEW” poster is a ripoff from the movie Independence Day check it out here’s the link to that poster.

I think I like this poster way better than the independence day one, but it definitely has a resemblance.
The shadows at the poster are at wrong angles. Should we look forward to poor special effects?
