The online Transformers community Transformer World 2005 has what they claim is an exclusive first look at artwork for Megatron in the upcoming Transformers movie “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen”, the sequel to the 2007 summer blockbuster “Transformers” directed by Michael Bay. Starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox, the Transformers franchise features transforming robots from outers pace fighting for humanity and peace against their evil brethren on planet Earth. The movie also featured Peter Cullen, the voice of the classic hero Autobots leader Optimus Prime in the original 80’s cartoons, returning to voice the transforming big-rig truck leader. Hugo Weaving voiced Megatron, the leader of the Autobots enemies the Decepticons, in the 2005 film.
This is the leaked artwork.
Some speculate that the leaked artwork, which features a different form for Megatron from the first film and seems to have tank-tread like legs, indicating perhaps his “transformation mode”, is the work of fans, but then again attention falls to recently leaked images of “Devastator” last week, which was believed to be fanwork of other new Transformers slated to appear in the upcoming sequel that turned out to be true.
“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” has a tentative release date of June 26th 2009 and features LaBeouf and Fox reprising their roles of Sam Witwicky and Mikaela Barnes.
