Actor John Turturro recently hinted to UK entertainment outlet Digital Spy that there may be a sequel to the Coen brothers cult hit The Big Lebowski coming soon.
Turturro said, “The Big Lebowski was a great movie. We hope to make a sequel. I can’t talk about it, but it comes down to Jesus in the jumpsuit.”
The Big Lebowski starred Jeff Bridges as Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski, an unemployed slacker living in Venice, California who spends his time drinking White Russians, smoking pot and bowling. In the beginning of the film, two hooligans break into The Dude’s apartment in search of debts owed to Lebowski’s wife, but little do they know, they have the wrong Lebowski. After one of the thugs urinates on The Dude’s carpet, he seeks the advice of his crazy Vietnam veteran friend, Walter, played by John Goodman, who teams up with The Dude to get compensated for the damage done to the rug.
Turturro played Jesus Quintana in the film, a bowling opponent of The Dude’s and Walter’s team and ex-convicted pervert.
Digital Spy also reports that the idea of a second film has been brought to the attention of Julianne Moore and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who were also in the original film.
