In August, it was announced that British duo Nick Frost and Simon Pegg were going for round three, this time with their film Paul.
More details have be released about the exact plot of the film, in which two friends (Frost and Pegg), after visiting Comic-Con in San Diego, go on a road trip to Area 51 where they discover an alien named Paul, who asks the duo to help him find his way home.
Unlike Pegg and Frost’s other films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, Pegg and Frost have penned the script for Paul, rather than Pegg and Edgar Wright, the director of the first two films. Wright will still be on-board, however, only this time as an executive producer.
Another surprise is that Paul will feature Pegg and Frost in swapped roles: Frost the leading man and Pegg and the sidekick.
Shooting will begin in March 2009 with Superbad director Greg Mottola directing.
Pegg and Frost have proven to be England’s dream team with Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, which were both international success stories, earning over $13 million with their first feature, Shaun of the Dead, and over $23.6 million with Hot Fuzz.
