Actor Ben Stiller has confirmed he is working on a sequel to his 2001 comedy Zoolander.
Stiller, who not only starred in but wrote and directed Zoolander as well, is in talks to get production rolling on a sequel but for the time being is just looking at scripts.
The funnyman insists he has always wanted to complete the story of the clueless fashion model and is delighted that Zoolander 2 is finally close to being made.
The original film follows washed-up model Derek Zoolander on his road to reclaim his fame when he is brainwashed to kill the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
Stiller says about the sequel, “I’ve been trying to get Zoolander 2 together and we’ve had a few scripts. I feel that is the sequel I really would like to do some day because I like the original and I would make sure it was something new and worthy of it first.”
In addition to the news about the new Zoolander installment, Stiller also confirmed he is teaming up with Robert De Niro and cast for yet another addition to his successful Meet the Parents franchise.
Another franchise Stiller is known for, Night at the Museum, will see its second film in theaters in May 2009.
