Seth Rogen talked to Sci Fi Wire recently and said that the hopes to have footage available to show fans at the next Comic-Con next summer.
“Comic-Con is my favorite event of the year, […] It’s more fun to me than the movie premieres, than anything. I love Comic-Con. All of our friends come down for it, and we just have a really good time, and it’s always a lot of fun. I would love nothing more than to be able to show something at Comic-Con.”
The Green Hornet is a masked vigilante created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker for an old-time radio show in the 1930s. Together with his sidekick and driver Kato, who was played by a then-unknown Bruce Lee in the 1960’s TV series, the character, in various medium from radio to the aforementioned TV series, and various comic books that have run from the 1940’s to the 1990’s, fought a variety of criminals. He was known for his green mask, hat, and trench coat, and the famous car “Black Beauty” that Kato drove, as well as his signature weapon, his gas gun. The Green Hornet’s civilian identity is that of Britt Reid, a newspaper publisher, with Kato working under the guise of his manservant.
The Green Hornet, which will be released through Sony, has a tentative release date of 2010.
