Tim Roth, who played Emil Blonsky, aka the Abomination in the 2008 summer smash “The Incredible Hulk” starring Ed Norton as the titular comic-book titan, told a group of reporters on the set of his new Fox TV series “Lie To Me” this week, that he is signed for sequels and open to returning.
“Yeah, they’ve got me for three, […] If we do one.” Roth said in an interview on Monday, Jan. 5, in California, on the set of “Lie to Me”. A script is still in the works, but Roth said that if director Louis Leterrier is directing that he will be happy to return to the role of the Hulk-like beast called the Abomination.
At the end of “The Incredible Hulk”, the Hulk very decidedly let Abomination live to be captured after their street-shaking battle.
The Abomination first appeared as a villain to the Hulk in “Tales To Astonish” in 1967 and was created by Stan Lee and Gil Kane. Originally a Soviet spy who deliberately underwent the process that affected Bruce Banner in hopes of gaining similar powers. He becomes the reptilian-like Abomination, initially stronger than the Hulk and retaining his human mind, but is unable to return to his human form.
“Lie To Me” premieres on Fox January 21st.
