Mark Valley has been tapped as the lead in the pilot for the upcoming Fox TV drama “Human Target”, for director Simon West and director McG’s production company Wonderland. It is based on the comic book “Human Target” and eponymous title character. Valley has recently appeared in a recurring role on Fox’s sci-fi show “Fringe” and has also appeared as Brad Chase in ABC’s “Boston Legal”.
The Human Target is a comic book character created by Len Wein and Carmine Infantino for DC Comics. The character is a bodyguard and private investigator named Christopher Chance, who operates by impersonating his clients in order to strike back at the threats against them. Since he makes himself a target for the enemies of his clients he becomes known by the nickname “the Human Target.”
The Human Target’s early appearances came in back-up stories in the mostly-Superman-oriented “Action Comics” from DC. The Human Target has recently starred in an ongoing “Human Target” series written by Peter Milligan and published under DC’s Vertigo imprint, and before that had been featured over the years in both main and backup stories in the Batman-connected titles “The Brave And The Bold” and “Detective Comics”.
There is no release date set for the pilot.
