Variety reports that White Buffalo Media and Prana Animation Studios have teamed up for Holy Cow!, a CG-animated film.
Race to Witch Mountain‘s Dwayne Johnson will provide the voice for the film’s main character, a macho Texas steer who decides to seek refuge in India, where cattle are worshipped and not eaten.
The film has not recruited a writing team or a director as of yet.
Peter Kalmbach and Teddy Grennan, who thought of the idea for the story, will be producing along with Johnson and Prana’s Kristin Dornig and Arish Fyzee.
Johnson’s Race to Witch Mountain opens on March 13th for Disney. His next films will be The Tooth Fairy for Fox and CG-animated feature Planet 51 for Ilion Animation.
White Buffalo’s upcoming projects include Lovely, Still, a film that stars Martin Landau, Ellen Burstyn and Elizabeth Banks; Theater of War, which stars Meryl Streep; and go-karting documentary Racing Dreams.
The La-Mumbai based Prana has a multipicture deal with Disney. The movies produced so far have been Tinkerbell, Hoodwinked and the Unstable Fable series, which includes Tortoise vs. Hare and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Prana will also produce Jason and the Argonauts for MRC and NBC Studios.
