Eliza Coupe (“Scrubs”) has been tapped to join the cast of the “No Heroics” pilot for ABC, based on the hit British TV series of the same name about the personal lives of a group of friends, who just happen to be superheroes.
Taking place in a world that’s the same as ours except for the existence of superheroes, called “capes” in the series, “capes” are shown performing a variety of functions from standard superheroics to paying superhero taxes to using their powers in mundane ways, such as fixing the heating in a home. The show details the lives of a group of friends, the heroes The Hotness, who controls fire, She-Force who is incredibly strong, Electroclash, who can talk to machines, and Timebomb, who can see into the future up to a minute, as they work, deal with other heroes being more popular than them, date, and assemble for drinks at their favorite superhero bar.
“No Heroics” premiered in 2008 and has become a major hit, and series creator Drew Pearce will be joined by “Will & Grace” writer Jeff Greenstein to pen the American version. So far no other casting information has been released about the series.
