Brittney Murphy has joined the all-star cast of Sylvester Stallone’s all-star “The Expendables,” produced by Nu Image/Millennium Films.
Besides Murphy, “The Expendables” will Stallone, Jason Statham, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, Eric Roberts, Charisma Carpenter, and Randy Couture. The film follows a motley crew of mercenaries who head to South America on a mission to overthrow a dictator. Murphy will play Rourke’s character’s girlfriend, a nightclub singer.
Murphy will play Rourke’s girlfriend, a singer, and she will be performing a musical number in the film.
David Zayas (TV’s “Dexter”) has also signed onto the project and will play the dictator.
Stallone is directing and also wrote the screenplay,, which began production this week in Brazil. The production also will shoot in Louisiana.
Murphy is also attached to “Sin City 2” to reprise her role in the comic-book adaptation.
