Columbia Pictures has moved the release date of Michel Gondry’s comic book adaptation of “The Green Hornet” back two weeks, from June 25th, 2010 to July 9th, 2010.

It was moved to make room for the studio’s all-star cast comedy “Grown Ups”, which was moved from March 12th, to June 25th 2010.

Seth Rogen is attached to star in the production, which he co-wrote. Stephen Chow is also set to star.

The character of the Green Hornet was first created for radio serials in the 1930’s, before spinning off into comic strips, books, and a live-action show as well, which featured Bruce Lee in the role of the Hornet’s chauffer/sidekick, the martial artist Kato. Also known as Britt Reid, a dashing newspaper publisher by day, the Green Hornet is a masked vigilante armed with his hi-tech car, a gas gun, and fighting skills.
