Variety is reporting that 20th Century Fox has begun overhauling the “Fantastic Four” movie franchise for a “reboot” over the two films that were released in 2005 and 2007.
Akiva Goldsman has been hired to produce the reboot, and Michael Green, (co-exec producer, “Heroes”) who co-wrote the script for the upcoming “Green Lantern”, will write the script. It is unclear if any of the cast from the previous films will be returning for the new film.
“The Fantastic Four” first appeared in 1961 from Marvel Comics and were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The title follows Reed Richards, his wife Sue, Sue’s brother Johnny, and Reed’s childhood friend Ben Grimm as they are, in an outer space accident, mutated, and given powers that allows them to become a superhero group.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. “We want it to be less cheesy, and more gritty, like the new comic book movies!” … “Who should we hire?” … “I know! How about the guy who wrote ‘Batman and Robin’!”
Well done, peeps.
