The principles behind the classic horror film “Evil Dead” have, 28 years later, decided to re-release the film in theaters, 28 years later.
According to Paste.com, Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert are planning to re-release the film in theaters next year. The creators and Grindhouse Pictures will offer midnight showings in select Landmark theaters in the U.S., and Mayfair Cinema in Canada.
More venues will be announced at the start of 2010.
Regarding the re-release, star Bruce Campbell said;
“Nothing can prepare an audience for what they are about to see, because nothing punishes an audience like Evil Dead – especially on the big screen. I’m really glad it’s back. People are gonna be hurt.”
The exact dates for the re-release have yet to be set.
