According to Variety.com, producing team Joel Kastelberg and Moonstone Entertainment’s Etchie Stroh are re-launching “The Howling” werewolf franchise with “The Howling: Reborn.”
Joe Nimziki will be writing and directing the project, which is slated to start shooting in February 2010 and has a tentative Halloween 2010 release date set. The producers of the roginal film, Steve Lane and Bob Pringle, are onboard as executive producers for “The Howling: Reborn.” The original film, directed by Joe Dante, was released in 1981 and was about a news reporter who is being stalked by a serial killer that turns out to be a werewolf.
The details of “The Howling: Reborn” plot are being kept under wraps.
Pic’s due to start shooting in February for a Halloween release.
