The fourth “Pirates” movie, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” will begin shooting this summer in Hawaii. The governor of Hawaii, Linda Lingle, announced recently that filming would begin on the islands of Kaua’i and O’ahu this summer.

The Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer film is slated for a tentative summer 2011 release date. Bruckheimer is once against producing the project, with Mike Stenson, Chad Oman, Barry Waldman, Elliott, Rossio and John DeLuca all onboard as executive producers.

Though no plot details for the fourth installment of the franchise, which is loosely based on the Disney theme parks ride, have been released, it has been confirmed that it will star Johnny Depp in his role of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Rob Marshall is slated to direct based on a script by Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio.
