Summit Entertainment has acquired the feature-film rights to the romantic zombie novel “Warm Bodies”.
Jonathan Levine (“The Wackness”, “All the Boys Love Mandy Lane”) has been attached to both write and direct the film, based on the book of the same name by Isaac Marion. Marion originally self-published the novel before it was picked up by Atria Books, with a publication date set for this summer.
“Warm Bodies” will be produced by Bruna Papandrea, with Laurie Webb and Cori Shepherd Stern executive producing. The book’s story follows an existentially-tormented zombie who becomes friends with the girlfriend of his latest victim. Their relationship will transform not only him but also other zombies around him.
