Title: Taking of Pelham 123
Starring: Denzel Washington, John Travolta and John Turturro
Walter (Denzel Washington) is a New York City subway dispatcher whose normal day is thrown into chaos by an bold crime: the hijacking of a subway train. Ryder (John Travolta), the criminal mastermind behind the hijacking and leader of a highly-armed gang of four, threatens to execute the train’s passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour. As the tension mounts beneath his feet, Garber employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder and save the hostages. But there’s one riddle Garber can’t solve: even if the thieves get the money, how can they possibly escape?
John Travolta gives A great performance as he always does (except in his cheesy comedies) and Denzel Washington was good as well. But the rest of the cast is average at best. They could have made this a lot better but it also could have been a lot worse. A fun movie with two decent performances from Washington and Travolta. If your looking for a fun action flick it would be a good choice to rent this.
