Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (“Transformers”) have picked up the rights to produce a big-screen feature adaptation of IDW Publishing’s comic book series “Locke & Key”.
Until recently, Dimension held the rights to the series, but now Kurtzman and Orci’s adaptation will be distributed through their own deal with DreamWorks.
Written by Joe Hill and illustrated by Gabriel Rodriguez, “Locke & Key” is about the Keyhouse, a New England mansion inhabited by the Locke family. The house is haunted by a mysterious creature intent on mastering the mysterious magical keys and doorways that are throughout the property, which have incredible powers and abilities that are more than dangerous in the wrong hands.
