A third “Riddick” film has been confirmed, with Vin Diesel set to once again star as the mysterious and lethal anti-hero Riddick.
Diesel is also producing the film, which will be the third in the informally-titled “Chronicles of Riddick” franchise. Universal Pictures will handle domestic distribution on the film, with Lionsgate is currently selling international rights.
David Twohy, who also directed the previous installments “Pitch Black” and “The Chronicles of Riddick”, is onboard to direct the third installment. He also wrote the script, which Variety is reporting is more like the smaller-scale “Pitch Black”, which first introduced us to the blade-wielding, seeing-in-the-dark escaped convict and ruthless Richard B. Riddick.
Diesel is also slated to star in the latest in the “Fast And Furious” film franchise “Fast Five”.
