12-year-old child actor Leo Howard, who played (“G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra” and “Shorts”), has been cast in Lionsgate’s “Conan” as the young Conan the Cimmerian.
Jason Momoa (“Stargate: Atlantis”) has been cast to play the adult Conan in the rest of the Marcus Nispel-directed movie, which has begun pre-production in Bulgaria.
The film is based on author Robert E. Howard’s “Conan the Barbarian” character, which he created in 1932. The character has since been adapted into multiple mediums, from previous films, TV series, comic books, and cartoons.
The film has a tentative 2011 release date, and would be a film reboot of the Conan films, which were “Conan The Barbarian” in 1982 and “Conan The Destroyer”, both starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
