“Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke’s next project has been announced as a Red Riding Hood film.
“Orphan” writer David Johnson has been tapped to write the adaptation, which will feature werewolves and according the report in the LA Times, is being labeled as “elevated genre” type-project.
The famous fairy tale, which features a young girl in a red hooded cloak facing against a sly wolf that is plotting to eat her, was made famous in the 19th century by the Brothers Grimm, who popularized the folk tale. There have been multiple interpretations of the fairy tale, as well as media portrayals of the story.
No definite casting or release date has been set yet.
