Kristin Kreuk, who got her start on the fan favorite and long-running CW show ‘Smallville,’ will be appearing in the CBS comedy pilot ‘Hitched.’ The show, which is being produced by ‘Gossip Girl’ and ‘The O.C.’ creator Josh Schwartz, will also star Jack Carpenter of ‘I Love You, Beth Cooper’ fame, AOL Television reported on February 19.
In the half-hour multi-camera show, Kreuk and Carpenter will star as newlyweds. They have to juggle married life with the constant interfering of their family and friends after returning from their honeymoon. Also starring in the show is ‘American Pie’ favorite Eugene Levy, who will play Carpenter’s father, a serial divorcee.
The two leads are familiar to television viewers, as Carpenter was last seen on the small screen in the short-lived ‘The Return of Jezebel James.’ Kreuk is currently guest-starring on Schwartz’s NBC hit ‘Chuck,’ as a love interest to Zachary Levi’s titular character.
Kreuk was a regular on ‘Smallville’ from its debut season in 2001-2002 until its seventh season in 2007-2008. Along with Michael Rosenbaum, they both announced in March 2008 they didn’t want to be regulars on the show anymore, though they would be willing to return for guest appearances. Her first confirmed project after the announcement was playing the video game character Chun-Li in ‘Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.’
