Sean Hood has been hired to rewrite the script for “Conan”, which is slated to start filming on March 15th, 2010.
Marcus Nispel is directing the the action-adventure from Lionsgate, the latest adaptation of Robert E. Howard’s classic pulp barbarian. Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer wrote the original script for the movie, which has been adapted into comics, cartoons, and two live-action films in 1982 and 1984, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. A third Conan film has been in talks and development hell in Hollywood since the late 1990’s, though the election of Schwarzenegger in 2003 as governor of California removed him from returning the role.
Jason Momoa (“Stargate: Atlantis”) is starring in the title role as the Cimmerian swordsman and adventurer, with child actor Leo Howard playing a younger version.
