Oliver Stone (The upcoming “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” director) is in talks to direct a film version of “Travis McGee” for 20th Century Fox.
An adaptation of the John D. MacDonald book franchise, Leonardo DiCaprio has been attached to play the title character.
The character of McGee is a self-described beach bum who lives on an old houseboat and works as a freelance “salvage consultant”, finding people’s properties and solving their problems for them.
Written by Dana Stevens and Kario Salem, Peter Chernin is already attached to produce the project alongside Appian Way’s DiCaprio and Jennifer Davisson Killoran.
