The time has come and now there’s really no avoiding Step Up 3D; it has a poster and a trailer. Hey, I’m not going to lie; when Step Up 2: The Streets is on TV, I have a hard time turning it off, but when you’re as bad a dancer as I am, you can’t help but to be mesmerized by the performances in that flick. But that’s where the first one lost out, too much romantic dribble and not enough of Channing Tatum showing off his impressive skills – and physique.

So where does Step Up 3D fall on the spectrum? The trailer is such a gigantic mess of quick cuts, dancing and bleak dialogue, it’s not looking good.  The stars were clearly chosen for their ability on the dance floor, not in front of the camera. On the bright side, director Jon Chu seems to know what he’s doing when creating a 3D dance film and it shows in the trailer. If you can stomach the cheesy banter and lame acting, the 3D dancing alone could be worth your money.
