Paramount Pictures, alongside its Nickelodeon Movies imprint, is setting up to bring the classic Saturday morning cartoon “Mighty Mouse” to the big screen.
The studio is currently looking for both a new writer as well as a director to help adapt the Terrytoons cartoon about a Superman-esque mouse hero, which ran from the 1950s through the ’80s. It’s unclear, according to the LA Times, whether or not the project will be live-action, animated, CGI, or a combination of live-action and CG similar to 20th Century Fox’s recent “Alvin & The Chipmunks” films.
No casting or distribution news has been released either about the project.
