Rob Letterman has been brought on to direct, with Nicholas Stoller re-writing, for “Stretch Armstrong”, the big screen adaptation of the action figure.
With “Twilight” star Taylor Lautner attached to star, the film is based on the 1970’s Hasbro action figure that could pull and stretch its limbs like putty. The toy was relaunched again in the 1990’s.
Letterman directed the upcoming “Gulliver’s Travels” for 20th Century Fox, (where he previously worked with Stoller), and co-directed “Monsters vs. Aliens”.
Kim Roth is executive producing for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Imagine’s Brian Grazer of Imaging Entertainment is producing “Stretch Armstrong”, alongside Brian Goldner and Bennett Schneir for Hasbro.
