Rapper Ice Cube has signed on to join the cast of the police drama “Rampart”, from director Oren Moverman.
Ice Cube joins Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster, both of whom previously starred in Moverman’s “The Messenger”. Written by reknowned author James Ellroy, “Rampart” is about the scandals surrounding the Los Angeles Police Department’s CRASH (Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) anti-gang program during the 1990’s.
Ice Cube would play a police officer alongside Harrelson and Foster, with Harrelson portraying the lead officer caught up in the scandal of CRASH covering up the beating and killing of a gang member during an interrogation.
The movie is slated to start shooting in LA in August.
