Get up close and personal with Dren in the brand new teaser poster for Splice. Adrian Brody and Sarah Polley star as Clive and Elsa, a top-notch team of genetic engineers who specialize in splicing together the DNA of different animals to create crossbreeds. When they propose a plan to step outside the box and toss some human DNA into the mix, the company that funds their research takes a pass. The couple opts to conduct a covert experiment of their own, the result of which is Dren.
Even without knowing Splice is bound for dark territory, this image is freaky. A small portion of Dren may exemplify a baby-like adorableness, but that bulging mass consuming the remaining three quarters of her head completely cancels out the cute factor all together. The film is due out on June 4th, but there are a number of online contests offering tickets to advanced screenings. Fangoria is heading up one in New York City and Shock Till You Drop is offering admission to showings in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., Dallas and San Diego. All screenings conclude with a Q&A with the film’s director, Vincenzo Natali.
