It looks like The Twilight Saga is returning to Thanksgiving weekend for round four. Both Twilight and New Moon hit theaters for the holiday weekend, but Eclipse will break that trend when it attempts to earn summer blockbuster status on June 30th. Regardless of whether or not the season switch will work inĀ Eclipse‘s favor, Breaking Dawn will be a fall film and is set to arrive on November 18th, 2011.
Breaking Dawn will join Real Steel and Happy Feet 2 in the holiday slot. It’s actually quite a nice mix and it’s hard to imagine any stealing much business from each other. The young adults will go for Breaking Dawn, the older action lovers for Hugh Jackman’s robot boxing movie and, for the kiddies, there’s the Happy Feet sequel. Of course this is a very simplistic conventionalization, but I’d like to bet the large majority will neatly fall into their respected categories.
The countdown to Breaking Dawn can commence, but the question still remains; is this the countdown to the end of the Twilight Saga? There’s still no confirmation on whether Breaking Dawn will be a two-parter or not, but perhaps it’ll depend on if Eclipse performs as well as its predecessors. If that’s the case, we should know if there will be life for Twihards after November 18th, 2011 shortly.
