Kristen Stewart (the star of the “Twilight” franchise) has signed on to joined the cast of “On the Road”, a big-screen adaptation of classic beat author Jack Kerouac’s 1957 novel of the same name.
Stewart told USA Today “I am very much attached to a movie that has been trying to get made forever. Not that this is going to help it, but maybe I can just brag a little bit. I am super excited about it, too. I am about to play Marylou in ‘On the Road.'”
The book chronicles Kerouac’s years traveling alongside his friend Neal Cassady as the two traveled all over North America in a question for self-knowledge. Garrett Hedlund (“Tron: Legacy”) is attached to play the character Moriarty, with Stewart as his wife and Sam Riley as his traveling companion Sal.
Walter Salles (“The Motorcycle Diaries”) is directing the film.
