For those of you who’ve been MIA, MIB 3 is happening – now. As reported by MTV’s Splash Page, Sony already filmed a teaser which features Will Smith in his super sleek Agent J suit attempting to reassure the public that making a third Men in Black is a good idea. Unfortunately, the teaser is no longer viewable via YouTube, so you’ll have to settle for Smith’s message in text.
I know what you’re thinking – ‘M.I.B., 3-D, we’re going to be blowing stuff up and all that.’ But that’s not really what we’re doing right now. We’re here for one purpose, and for one purpose only: just to let you know that I’m about to make 3D look good.
What is still up and running is the report that accompanied the original source of the video on Sony Insider. According to the article, Barry Sonnenfeld is returning to direct as is Smith to portray Agent J. Tommy Lee Jones is in “advanced negotiations” to reprise his role as Agent K while Josh Brolin is in talks to play Agent K circa 1969. There’s still no confirmation on the Sacha Baron Cohen rumors, but Jemaine Clement has clinched the part of Boris, once called Yaz. Etan Cohen’s script is currently being rewritten by David Koepp who should have ample time to get the job done considering shooting isn’t expected to begin until the fall.
