Can’t wait for the fifth Fast and Furious movie, Fast Five? At least you’ll have Faster to hold you over until it races into theaters June 2011. The tease trailer just dropped on Yahoo! Movies and it’s packed with fast cars, muscles and a whole lot of firepower.
Dwayne Johnson stars as Driver, a man just out of prison after a 10-year sentence. Rather than ditch his jumpsuit for a more noble life, Driver is still hung up on the incident that put him behind bars to begin with, a botched bank robbery that resulted in the death of his brother. He walks into the world of freedom with a list of four names all of whom he blames for his brother’s death and all four of which he plans to take out. While he’s working on his list he also must watch his own back because he’s got a cop (Billy Bob Thornton) and a killer (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) on his tail.
As someone who could do without high-octane action, this just looks like more of the same. However, it is nice to see Johnson out of his Tooth Fairy tutu and back in a more suitable role.
